Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 3, 2026  ·  Last updated: April 3, 2026

Whiskrs ("Whiskrs," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile applications, website (whiskrs.dev), and related services (collectively, "Services"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of our Services.

This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with Apple App Store Review Guidelines, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other applicable privacy laws.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

a) Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: If our App offers account creation, we may collect your name, email address, username, and password.
  • User Content: Any content you create, upload, or submit within the App (notes, preferences, settings, or other user-generated content).
  • Communications: If you contact us for support or feedback, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
  • Purchase Information: For in-app purchases, Apple processes payment on our behalf. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive confirmation of purchase, transaction IDs, and subscription status from Apple.

b) Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: We may collect information about how you interact with our Services, such as features used, session duration, and in-app actions.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers (such as IDFV — Identifier for Vendor), and App version.
  • Crash Reports and Diagnostics: Anonymized crash logs and performance data to help us identify and fix bugs.
  • Log Data: IP address, browser type (for web access), pages visited, and timestamps.

c) Information from Third Parties

  • Apple Sign In / Third-Party Authentication: If you sign in using Apple ID or another third-party authentication service, we may receive basic profile information (name, email — which Apple may relay as an anonymized address) as permitted by that service.
  • Analytics Providers: We may use third-party analytics tools to understand usage patterns. These tools collect data subject to their own privacy policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve our Services;
  • Process transactions and send related information (receipts, subscription confirmations);
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requests;
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages;
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends to improve user experience;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities;
  • Comply with legal obligations;
  • Enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for behavioral advertising by third parties.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: To provide the Services you have requested;
  • Legitimate interests: To improve our Services, prevent fraud, and ensure security — where such interests are not overridden by your rights;
  • Legal obligation: To comply with applicable laws;
  • Consent: Where we have asked for and you have given your consent (e.g., optional analytics). You may withdraw consent at any time.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating our Services (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting), bound by confidentiality obligations;
  • Apple: As required for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, and Apple's associated services;
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
  • Protection of Rights: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Whiskrs, our users, or the public;
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets — in which case we will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy;
  • With Your Consent: For any other purpose with your explicit consent.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it in a manner designed to be irreversible. Crash reports and anonymized analytics may be retained longer in aggregated form.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention obligations;
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
  • Objection / Restriction: Object to or request restriction of our processing of your data;
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing;
  • Opt-out of Analytics: You may opt out of certain analytics collection through your device settings or by contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 14 below. We will respond within 30 days (or within the timeframe required by applicable law). We may ask you to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell;
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you;
  • Opt-out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information);
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

To submit a verifiable consumer request, please contact us at the address below. We will respond within 45 days.

10. International Data Transfers

Whiskrs operates primarily in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

11. Apple Platform Specific Disclosures

For Apps distributed on the Apple App Store, we adhere to Apple's data use requirements:

  • We do not use data collected through Apple's APIs to build user profiles for third-party advertising;
  • We use Sign in with Apple for authentication where available;
  • We limit data collection to what is necessary to provide App functionality;
  • Any data collected for analytics is used only to improve app quality and user experience;
  • We comply with Apple's App Privacy requirements and accurately disclose our data practices in App Store listings.

12. Third-Party Analytics and SDKs

We may use third-party SDKs or services for analytics and crash reporting. Any such third party operates under its own privacy policy. We take care to select partners that maintain high standards of data protection and do not use your data for purposes beyond providing services to us.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide more prominent notice (such as in-app notifications or email). We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of our Services after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
